Job Title: Lite Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Jim Smith Contracting is seeking a second shift lite duty mechanic to work from 2pm - 10pm Monday thru Saturday. Job may require longer hours during peak months of construction. Duties include, but are not limited to, fueling trucks, checking and changing oil, lite repairs such changing lights, fixing tarps and repairing anything listed on pre/post trip inspections. A minimum of 2 years mechanical experience is preferred. Will be responsible for the proper and efficient completion of assigned duties within company policy and Department of Transportation regulations. This is a safety sensitive position.  Jim Smith Contracting is a drug free workplace and we have a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fueling Trucks
• Checking and Changing Oil
• Lite repairs such as changing lights and fixing tarps
• Repair anything listed on the pre/post trip inspections complete by drivers
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including wearing appropriate safety gear.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years mechanical experience is preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Dependable and Punctual

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for extended periods while working on trucks.
• Climb in and out of trucks
